Trackvision®
Fleet Management System
TrackVision® is a complete Fleet Management System for the remote sensing of the ships.
Shipping companies business relies on transportation. In order to improve efficiency, productivity and reduce costs at the same time, they need to have a continuous control over their fleets, monitoring each unit through a reliable real-time tracking of ship's positions, speed, direction, fuel and power consumption, tanks status, environment info and other critical data.
The solution consist of onboard devices, centralized management console and cartographic client interface.
These components together provide tracking and storage through real time data communication of main NMEA information for each fleet unit.
NMEA information is based on industrial standards for communication among marine electronics devices defined by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), the unifying force behind the entire marine electronics industry.
The system can monitor external NMEA output like GPS position, speed, direction, fuel and power consumption, fuel level, throttles status, engine parameters, weather conditions etc. and can also store images from ship’s cameras installed onboard. The data to be analyzed can be specified properly configuring the system for each ship or group of ships. An embedded device collector, installed onboard on each fleet unit, collects the required data and communicates them to a centralized server. If the communication with the server is temporarily unavailable, data persistence is guaranteed by means of store-and-forward mechanisms.
The centralized server receives data from each ship making it available for reporting and monitoring operations.
Reports can be used to produce global statistics about fuel consumption during the operational lifecycle of the ships, evaluating the efficiency of each unit.
The monitoring of onboard parameters supports ship operators in improving and optimizing fleet maintenance plans and saving costs.
Real-time ships monitoring can improve control over the fleet by setting thresholds for each monitored parameter.
Configuring alerts and alarms provides the monitoring of on board events, like:
- speed change
- route variation
- fuel consumption peaks
- power consumption peaks
- engine parameters alarms
- weather conditions change
- departures & arrivals schedule checks
- on board alarms
also enhancing the security and safety of crew and passengers.
Fleet units are continuously monitored, giving Ship Company Managers the possibility to control all fleet information through graphical and intuitive interfaces.
The data can be sent using any type of standard, sat or GSM/GPRS connections.
