Port Authority of Civitavecchia adopts eBoarding® as its solution for the centralized check-in.

The solution, installed at the Varco Vespucci gate access, is based on the eBoarding® technology for vehicles in transit identification and classification.

An advanced recognition OCR system enables detection of passengers with reservation, Port operators and unauthorized vehicles simply through the optical scan of the vehicle license plate. When a vehicle license plate is associated to an existing ticket, the boarding cards get printed directly at the access gate allowing passengers to go straight for the dock, avoiding this way additional queues.

This process lasts about 7 seconds for each vehicle allowing the management and identification of more than 400,000 vehicles (among cars and trucks) in the first three months since the delivery in production of the system.
